aftercare

Below is some advice for the aftercare of your treatment.

we're always on hand to help too, so if you're unsure of anything, just get in touch.

Lash Aftercare

Lash Lifting;

No water should come into contact with your eyelashes for 24 hours.

For 48 hours after treatment do not steam your face, use a steam bath, swim or wash your face with hot water.

If you wear mascara on your bottom lashes make sure it is water based.

If you wear eyeliner, the best ones to use are the felt tip pens or gel, avoid pencil eyeliners as they tend to be a bit oily and can clog between the lashes.

Do not use an eyelash curler or perm the lashes. It will break the eye lashes and/or crease them.

Do not rub lashes when washing your face – always pat dry after cleansing.

To remove make-up use an OIL FREE make-up remover avoiding touching the eyelashes.

And remember to brush your lashes daily with a lash brush!

Lash Extensions;

The first 24-48 hours are crucial to the bonding procedure, so:

Do not pull on your eyelashes. The bond on the extensions is so strong that it will pull your own eyelash out along with the new ones.

We naturally lose a couple of lashes a day which we seldom notice, however, you will notice with the extensions and if you see your lash attached to the extensions please don’t panic, as that’s exactly what’s supposed to happen!

Brow Aftercare

It will fade!

If your brows or lashes look too dark, don’t worry – it will fade. It’s important the colour is a little darker to begin with so the tint lasts. The initial darkness will only last a few days and will get a little closer to the right colour every time you cleanse your face.

Keep them dry

Avoid getting your lashes or brows wet for 12 hours after having them tinted. Cleanse around the areas with a gentle product instead. Giving the dye longer to settle is a tried and tested way to make your tint last longer.

Avoid oil based cleanser

Check your cleanser/eye makeup remover isn’t oil-based. Oil strips the tint from your lashes/brows, which means you’ll have to return to the salon sooner than you’d like. Swap for gel or cream based cleansers: they’re nice and gentle and will save you time and money in the long run.

Waxing Aftercare

After your waxing service, you may expect the area to be red, some may experience blood spots due to thicker, courser hair and the area may feel tender and tingle.

For the first 24 hours after a waxing service, avoid the following to prevent irritating the skin:

Touching or scratching the waxed area

Exfoliating the waxed area

We suggest you rather shower in a cold temperature. Ensure the water runs off the waxed area and you do not wash or scrub this area

Perspiration and friction on the waxed area

Sauna’s and stream rooms

Exercise, gyms and swimming

Sunbathing, sunbeds or any sunlight and UV exposure. Sweat can infect open follicles and heat can irritate the waxed area. Remember to book your wax 2 days before you go on holiday, to allow the follicles enough time to close and the skin to calm down

Applying products to the waxed area such as deodorants, make-up, lotions, soaps, powders, perfumes, self-tanning products etc.

Tight fitted clothing that may cause friction to the waxed area

To soothe and calm the skin we suggest regularly applying an Aloe Vera gel. This will rehydrate the skin and sooth any distort you may experience. Tea tree oil can also be applied to the area for its anti-bacterial properties in ensuring the area remains bacteria free.

Remember, it is important to keep the area clean and dry for 48 hours after your appointment soon

3-10 days after your waxing service, you need to ensure you prevent ingrown hairs. The skin will close over the follicles and new hair may get trapped causing ingrown hairs.

Gently exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a body scrub. Start this routine 2-3 days after the waxing treatment. It is essential that you perform this routine between days 3-10 after your wax service. Remember to not over exfoliate as this can cause damage to the skin.

Follow your exfoliation with an enriching and nourishing moisturiser. This process will prevent ingrown hairs and ensure that your next wax is easier and a little less painful.
